President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf inducts Firestone Natural Rubber Company (represented by farm manager Ed Garcia) into the Humane Order of African Redemption with the Grade of Knight Commander. Firestone Natural Rubber Company was awarded the honor as a result of its efforts to combat the worst Ebola outbreak in history.

While visiting the Firestone Natural Rubber Farm in Harbel, President Sirleaf takes time to see some of the products made from Hevea wood, a major export from the farm. The Firestone Liberia Rubber Wood operation now employs over 400 workers. The value added products are sold at the Firestone showroom and distribution outlet in the capital, Monrovia.  While Liberia is the primary market for these products, export sales to other countries are made as well.
