Firestone Liberia continues to construct housing units for teachers
HARBEL, Liberia, West Africa (January 28, 2010) — Firestone Liberia continues to provide additional housing units for the comfort of its dedicated employees and their families. The latest housing facilities, part of efforts by the company to improve and raise the living standards of those employed within its school system, are currently being constructed in Division 44, outside Harbel, by Liberian owned-construction firms.
According to housing and engineering authorities of the company, these new units, when completed, will immediately be occupied by teachers.
It can be recalled that teachers in other parts of the concession area of the company have benefited from similar projects. Firestone and authorities of the Education, Engineering and Community Affairs departments have been praised for the timely manner in which they continue to show interest in the working and living conditions of employees, especially teachers assigned to various schools within the Firestone Liberia School System.
At the same time, passersby and residents of nearby communities bordering the part of the concession area where the ongoing construction is taking place have added their voices to the many words of commendation the company is receiving for the construction of modern housing and other facilities for employees and their families throughout the concession area. "These houses are captivating and can serve as motivation for hard work and productivity," a gentleman remarked after taking a glance of the new housing units. Another observed, "Firestone continues to improve the working and living conditions of employees and their dependents; they are constructing more schools and houses among other facilities."
Besides the ongoing project in Division 44, the Management of Firestone Liberia also completed the construction of similar housing facilities for its teachers assigned to schools in Divisions 10, 23, 35, 40 and other parts of the concession.
