Brick by Brick: The Business of Rebuilding Liberia
Firestone Liberia Honors High Performing Students
Just days after the company recognized more than 70 graduates of the Adult Education Program, more than 220 students in the Firestone School System were recognized for their high performance in the first semester of the 2009-2010 academic year.
The Superintendent’s Award was given to 147 students while 71 earned a Manager’s Award. The President/Managing Director’s Award was presented to the top three academic achievers in the Firestone School System: Francis Wolobah of Division 13 School (97 percent average), Mandu Ville of Division 44 School (96 percent average), and Emmanuel Tokpah of Division 13 School (95.9 percent average).
A cast of leaders from within the company and community attended the honor ceremony to present the awards and commend the students, including Bortfeldt Lloyd, Superintendent of the recently established Voice of Firestone Radio Station (89.5 FM); J.Y. Morris, Production Group II Manager; and Charles Stuart, President and Managing Director of Firestone Liberia.
