Firestone Investment Agreement Commended
Ellen Løj, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General to the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), recently spoke about progress and democracy in Liberia at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C. In her speech, Løj commended Firestone's renegotiated agreement with the Government of Liberia, calling it a "model agreement for further concession agreements." She went on to say that the agreement not only provides income for the Liberian government, but also promises better conditions for Firestone employees.
